Michael Gill, a past AIDA President and past President of AILA (the Australian Insurance Law Association) has this year delivered the Geoff Masel Lecture to each of the AILA Branches in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Hobart and Perth.

Since 2005 a series of lectures have been organised by AILA to be delivered each year in memory of Geoff Masel, a founder of the Victorian Branch of AILA, the first recipient of the Insurance Law Prize in 1995 and one of AILA's first life members, who died in 2004..

The subject of Michael’s lecture “Insurance: facing a change of era” is likely to be of interest to all within the AIDA community and so is reproduced here in the form of a PowerPoint presentation and accompanying notes.

AIDA is grateful to Michael and to AILA for permission to reproduce both here.
