Hellenic Insurance Law Association (HILA)

HILA is AIDA’s National Section in Greece. 

It is a non-profit organization established to provide a forum for the promotion, review, development and debate of Hellenic insurance law and theory. It holds regular talks and maintains an ongoing liaison with the insurance / reinsurance, legal, loss adjusting and broking sectors of the insurance industry.

HILA was founded on 31 March 1961 in Athens - Greece and it facilitates contact with a broad array of service providers in insurance, as well as academics, regulators, industry specialists and technicians. Its key objectives include:

The enhancement of the study of insurance theory and law through the organization of seminars and workshops, the establishment and maintenance of an insurance library and database, as well as the publication of relevant insurance studies and working papers;

  • To provide a forum for the promotion, review, development and debate of insurance studies;
  • To work towards improved theoretical understanding and practice in the Hellenic industry;
  • To provide a forum for liaison and discussion of issues pertaining to insurance;
  • To provide a central office for the circulation of information between members.

Governance

HILA is lead by its Committee, made up of National Board Members.
